Incompetent morons. Makes you want to smash ’em.
As somebody has worked in the IT industry for well over a quarter of a century, I cannot fathom how the Post Office / Horizon scandal even became a thing. Quite simply, the sheer number of “fraud” cases appearing out of nowhere would have immediately made me look firmly in the direction of the tech companies and agencies involved. The red flags would have been clear to see.
There’s no way I would have been pressing criminal charges against thousands of people until every line of code was inspected.
This is one more example of us being governed, manipulated and screwed over by incompetent morons who have been placed in positions of trust, with said morons seeing nothing but financial benefits when presented with technology they clearly cannot understand.
Heads need to roll.
